UPDATE- On January 31, 2009, the CPSC voted unanimously to hold off on the Feb 10, 2009 deadline as it relates to lead and other harmful substances as outlined in the CPSIA. The new deadline is now February 10, 2010.
In August 2008, Congress passed and the President signed new consumer legislation (CPSIA-Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) that implemented some very stringent requirements on Lead and Phthalates. This legislation has mandated that product that did not meet these lead standards could not be offered for sale to any consumer after February 10, 2009. Danara is in compliance with the new lead regulations for all products. The new regulations as it relates to Phthalates applies only to product that is manufactured after February 10, 2009. Danara is in compliance with the new phthalate regulation for all products.
We are required by law to have General Certificates of Conformity (GCC) for all items on file and available to anyone upon request. These verify that these products meet the applicable rules and regulations enforced by the CPSC. You may access information relating to this new legislation at the CPSC website at http://www.cpsc.gov/cpsia.pdf.
Danara has been and is in compliance with all Lead and Phthalates regulations as required by federal, state or local law, regulation or rule for all of the merchandise that we market/produce/sell. When it comes to the safety of children, the bar can never be too high. |
